The police in Pampierstad have re-arrested two suspects who escaped from Pampierstad police holding Cells.

The two awaiting trial prisoners, Oageng Sehemo (21) and Thembile Lawrance Fuba (28) escaped between 20 and 21 February 2019. They were arrested for burglary at a business premise.

Oageng Sehemo was arrested this morning at Hartswater town by an off-duty police sergeant.


Sergeant Kagiso Gaebee of Pampierstad placed himself on duty when he saw the escapee.

The other escapee, Thembile Fuba was arrested at Thagadiepelajang settlement in Hartswater after information from members of the community.

The Station Commander of Pampierstad, Lt Col Morebodi has thanked members of the community for the invaluable information which led to the re arrest of the escapee. He also thanked Sgt Kagiso Gaebee for placing himself on duty in ensuring that the escapee is brought to book.

The escapees are expected to appear before the Pampierstad Magistrates Court on Monday, 04 March pending further investigation.
